Creating and using Key Forecasts

Key Forecasts enable users to quickly view forecasts for particular locations within a project. Users can request to add any location's forecast as a Key Forecast, and can optionally add thresholds to denote levels of risk and action. This feature is available for HydroForecast Short-term flow, temperature, and precipitation forecasts.

Below is an example of a configured set of thresholds for HydroForecast Short-term flows at Trinity River above Coffee Creek. Users will get a heads-up view if flows cross the warning threshold (purple) and the critical threshold (pink) to denote levels of risk and action. This feature is available for HydroForecast Short-term flow, temperature, and precipitation forecasts.

The tooltip feature is active on the Key Forecasts panel to quickly read off the forecast values: 

To add a Key Forecast to a project, send an email to team@hydroforecast.com with this information:

  • The site name
  • The type of forecast (currently supports HydroForecast Short-term, precipitation and temperature)
  • Warning and critical high value thresholds (Optional)
  • Warning and critical low value thresholds (Optional)
